Chelidonium majus
Liquid extract of fresh whole flowering plant with root.
Actions: Stimulates liver and gallbladder
secretions and drainage (cholagogue); antispasmodic to gallbladder and
gastrointestinal tract. Removes warts.
Uses: Inefficient function of glandular organs of abdominal
cavity, and sluggish and deficient circulation of tissues, glands and
organs of this cavity; inflammation and congestion of liver, gallbladder
and spleen; liver related headaches and dyspepsia; diminished bile secretion
and relief of gallbladder congestion; prevention of gallstone colic;
gastrointestinal spasms. Topically for removal of warts and corns.
Dose: Take 30 to 40 drops, 2 or 3 times per day in
half-cup of water. Apply full-strength extract to warts or corns 3 or
4 times per day.
Cautions: Large doses may produce colic in cases of
gallstones, or obstruction of bile ducts and intestines. Consult a qualified
midwife or physician before taking during pregnancy.
